Abstract: The most popular Web language is not Java, it is PHP. PHP runs more web sites, than any other language. PHP is a simple but powerful language for creating Web Content, including HTML, XML, and SOAP.

This session is a technical session that describes what PHP is, what its advantages are that make it so popular, and describes its key features. It provides a basic introduction to the language, and shows how it can be used to create Web content, including accessing data from DB2 and returning the results over HTTP.

If time permits, a simple demonstration of running PHP on System z will also be shown. System z is a new platform for PHP.
